Rookie Girl Group Refutes Common Misconception People Have About Street-Cast Idols
본문
No one knows the K-Pop industry better than K-Pop idols themselves. Though they just debuted, girl group BLING BLING has insider knowledge that they were happy to share on YouTube channel AYO.
One of the comments they reacted strongly to was on a netizen who thought that most idols entered companies easily.
When I hear debut stories about idols, they were mostly street-casted or they auditioned with friends and were cast, or they just took one audition and they got it. I don’t think there are many cases who went to academies and prepared hard.

The girls refuted the idea that idols mostly come from street-casting, since most of their members trained in academies before joining their company.
That’s BLING BLING! We’re that case! We went to an academy for years

It was a long journey for the girls, with leader Juhyun explaining, “We went to both dancing and singing academies and had auditions, trained, and then debuted. It’s not that you get picked at once, so please don’t misunderstand”.

On the other hand, they asserted that those who were scouted by company agents should not be looked down upon. According to the girls, these idols also go through auditions like everyone else, and so they do not deserve to be treated as if they were less talented than trainees who made it through open auditions.
Even if you were cast, you still have to audition, and you become an idol when you have talent as an idol. You get it when you try hard.

Most members from PLEDIS Entertainment boy group SEVENTEEN, for instance, were scouted. Today, they’re known as one of the most skilled groups in the industry.
