RM Recalls BTS’s Rookie Days When They Weren’t Invited To “MAMA”

2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards just took place where BTS took home multiple awards such as Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Worldwide Icon, and more.

Upon receiving a total of 8 awards, RM made a speech that drew particular attention among viewers.

In contrast to their success now, RM recalled BTS’s rookie days when they weren’t invited to MAMA.

This is the only awards ceremony we weren’t invited to when we were rookies.

And as a result, RM expressed just how much he envied those who attended MAMA, and how deeply moved he is now that the group received such big awards.

We really wanted to come to this awards ceremony, and we envied those who did. But now, we received multiple big awards. I’m deeply moved.

Furthermore, RM shared his regret for hearing such good news when many people are going through a hard time.

My heart feels heavy at the thought that we’re hearing such good news during a difficult time. I hope we can work hard and see each other again with smiles.
