These 7 K-Pop Idols Have The Most Unique Pets In The Industry

Pets aren’t incredibly uncommon in the K-Pop industry, though a lot of idols simply don’t have time to take care of one. Cats and dogs are by far the most common pets for idols to have, but some have had unique pets by anyone’s standards! Here are 7 K-Pop idols who have had some of the most unique pets at some point in time.
1. BamBam (GOT7)
While cats are probably the most common pet for an idol to have, BamBam has a unique one: A hairless cat!
He has four cats total –Pudding, Cupcake, Latte, and King — but one of them, Latte, is a Sphynx cat, a type of hairless cat that’s pretty rare to own. They’re pretty high-maintenance to own as well, but that didn’t seem to deter BamBam! He has said that he speaks Korean to his cats rather than his native Thai, so that the cats will “understand” the vets when he takes them in!
2. Jin (BTS)
Jin has been the proud owner of a pet as cute as he is: Sugar gliders!
His first two sugar gliders, which were given to him as a gift from his parents, were named Odeng and Eomuk. They were introduced to fans during BTS’s “DNA” era in in 2017, and while they lived in the BTS dorm for some time, eventually Jin’s parents took care of them due to BTS’s frequent traveling.
Sadly, Eomuk passed away in 2018, at which point Jin bought another sugar glider, Gukmul, to keep Odeng company. Odeng passed away a year later, and Gukmul is assumed to still be under the care of Jin’s parents.
3. Soobin (TXT)
Soobin has arguably one of the most well-known unusual pets in the K-Pop industry: His pet hedgehog, Odi!
The TXT member adopted Odi in June 2021, and lives in the dorm with Soobin and the rest of the members. He has spoken fondly of his pet and how much he enjoys taking care of the hedgehog, and that having a pet helped to change the repetitive pace of each day being an idol!
Before I got Odi, every day was exactly the same: Practice, go home, sleep. I even always saw the same people, so the days were becoming boring. Having Odi has given me a lot I have to do, and after I come home I watch him and play with his feet before going to bed, which has become a daily routine. I’m just grateful and happy he’s there waiting for me. I have a lot more small things to be happy about.

4. Taehyun (TXT)
Soobin isn’t the only member of TXT that has had an unusual pet: Taehyun once took care of a young corn snake!
It was an albino corn snake named Aengdu (which means “cherry” in Korean), and apparently both he and Huening Kai had been interested in taking care of a snake after plenty of research on them, so they adopted the snake in early 2020. Unfortunately, however, he was only able to take care of Aengdu for about 6 months before his schedule became too busy to take care of the snake, and he had to give the snake to someone else to take care of as it deserved.
5. Mir (MBLAQ)
Mir hasn’t had just one unusual animal, but actually several!
He and fellow MBLAQ member GO love reptiles, and have had an assortment of them over the years, from a baby crocodile to a snake named Kodong.

When he was on Laws of the Jungle in 2012, Mir shared that he has had various snakes and lizards over the years and claimed that his “entire house was a jungle”.
6. Yongseung (VERIVERY)
Yongseung has had arguably the strangest pets on this list: Lobsters!
He’s said that the lobsters are quite intelligent, and along with them, he has also owned fourteen rabbits, dozens of rockfish, snails, hedgehogs, and hermit crabs! The hermit crabs were even allowed out on his home’s veranda.
7. Yeojin (LOONA)
Finally, Yeojin has quite the unique pets as well: Snails.
Apparently when she was younger, Yeojin once got lost on the way to school on her first day, and ended up in an aquarium to try to use their phone. Instead of making the call, however, she ended up buying a snail instead!
Since then, she has bought two other snails and has taken care of all three of them. She also has a moss ball as well!
