Davichi Lee Haeri’s “Small” Wedding Had A “Big” Price Tag — Experts Estimate How Much The Wedding Cost

Weddings in Korea carry an exorbitant price tag.

In a 2017 report, Yonhap News reported that the average price of a wedding in Korea was upwards of USD $40,000.

Due to the expensive costs, many couples opt to hold smaller ceremonies. Celebrities such as Lee Hyori and Won Bin also held smaller ceremonies for their nuptials.

With that said, not all “small” weddings are created equal. Davichi‘s Lee Haeri is a testament to this.

On July 14, KBS‘s Entertainment Company Live reported on the singer’s wedding. The show featured wedding experts to estimate the cost of the wedding.

The wedding was held at the luxurious Seoul Ambassador Hotel. The five-star hotel’s suite room served as the bride’s dressing room. The room costs around ₩4.00 million KRW (about $3,040 USD) per night.

The cost of holding a wedding ceremony at the hotel is a whole different matter. Wedding packages at the hotel start around ₩30.0 million KRW (about $22,800 USD), but seeing how the singer had decorated the wedding hall with flowers and custom lighting, an expert estimated the cost to be around ₩50.0 million KRW (about $37,900 USD).

Including the lights, chairs, and flower decorations Lee Haeri added the wedding seems to have cost around ₩50.0 million KRW (about $37,900 USD).

Lee Haeri made news for her beautiful wedding gown. The price of the gown is a relatively modest ₩1.00 million KRW (about $759 USD).

The stars were out for the singer’s wedding. The ceremony was hosted by comedian Jang Do Yeon, and singers Lee Juk, Lyn, and Baek Ji Young served as wedding singers. Best friend and fellow Davichi member Kang Min Kyung gave a wedding toast.
