Netizens Call Out United States Representative Andy Biggs For Shady Remarks About BTS’s Visit To The White House

American politician Andy Biggs is under fire for a post regarding BTS.
Andy Biggs is an American attorney and conservative republican politician representing Arizona’s 5th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives. He frequently shares negative posts regarding the current administration as President Joe Biden is a democrat.
The Biden Admin still requires American citizens to take a COVID test before they enter the country.
Yet, no such requirement exists for illegal aliens coming across our southern border.
Their guidance doesn’t make sense and it never did.

So, when BTS guested at The White House this week, he targeted them instead.
On May 31, @bts_bighit visited the White House for AANHPI month. The group joined @PressSec for a briefing before meeting with @POTUS for a discussion on the importance of addressing anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination.

On May 31, BTS spoke publicly to reporters at Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre‘s press briefing. Immediately after, they met with President Joe Biden. In both meetings, the members touched on important topics, speaking about anti-Asian hate crimes, the importance of diversity, and inclusion.

They are the first and only Korean act to be invited to The White House. Other iconic music artists such as Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston have received White House invitations, but they were all American. Even fewer artists have been invited to The Oval Office. Michael Jackson, U2‘s Bono, and BTS are the only three.

Since their visit, BTS have received praise from President Joe Biden himself and netizens.
This is an important month here in America.
A lot of our Asian-American friends have been subject to real discrimination.

Yet, as BTS leader RM once said, “I’ve had to accept that – that everyone cannot love me. Because when there’s love, there’s hate. When there’s light, there’s dark.”
During BTS’s address at Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre‘s press briefing, Andy Biggs shared a shady post via Twitter regarding the group with clear negative implications. It reads, “Wonder if they have any ideas on how to secure our border, lower inflation, lower gas prices, and get baby formula back on our shelves.”

Netizens pointed out that he was essentially asking a group of foreign men to solve the United States’ issues, all of which American politicians should be resolving rather than asking others. So, he technically requested others’ to do his and other politicians’ jobs.

Likewise, some have pointed out that despite being performers and not politicians, BTS actually have already done more than enough already for their own country. The members were appointed as “Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture” by President Moon Jae In last year and have spoken at the United Nations on numerous occasions, among other prestigious events.
It’s not in their job description. They’re already doing more than enough for their own country, their role in today’s visit is to speak about their own struggles they’re facing until now as Asians during the time working in US.

Besides, BTS went to The White House to speak on other serious topics that affect not only them as Asians who frequently travel to the U.S. for work but others as there has been a resurgence of anti-Asian rhetoric and hate crimes in America since COVID-19. Many Asian American idols have been troubled about it as they have family there or even live there themselves, such as Eric Nam and GOT7‘s Mark Tuan. BTS join in standing in solidarity with them and using their platform for good. Additionally, it was the conclusion of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Not only that, but while Andy Biggs may have brought up some legitimate issues that should be addressed in the United States, there are many more that should be. Yet, he implied that others should be addressed over a just as serious issue was at the time being.
More important the gun control and abortion regulation/deregulation/reform issues that are at the forefront of our minds now. Why are you asking the White House to forget about one problem to solve another. They are all problems. Maybe next month can be baby formula month …
