In one of the most bizarre stories of the day, Kim Tae Ri found herself facing counterfeit allegations.
The allegations were made regarding the Brandon Maxwell dress she wore to the Baeksang Arts Awards.
The actress wore the dress on to awards on May 6, to much fanfare, where she received the Excellence In Acting Award and Popularity Award for her role in tvN’s drama Twenty-Five, Twenty-One.
Some netizens, however, made allegations that the dress was fake.
The netizens claimed that the dress’s details in the chest were different from the dress first worn by Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson in 2019.
Dakota Johnson wore the dress in 2019 for the 11th Governors Award. The dress that Dakota Johnson wore featured a much looser dress detail, whereas Kim Tae Ri wore a dress more fitting to her figure.
To the allegations, the dress shop replied. “The dress is an authentic Brandon Maxwell dress and the dress was simply tailored to Kim Tae Ri.”
