BTS’s V Tells All On His Viral Moment With Olivia Rodrigo At The 2022 GRAMMYs

BTS was the talk of The 2022 GRAMMYs (also known as The 64th GRAMMY Awards). The group was nominated for “Best Pop/Duo/Performance” and performed their hit song “Butter.”
The entire performance was iconic, but one particular moment broke the internet.
There was a surprise appearance by American singer Olivia Rodrigo. BTS’s V leaned in to whisper something to her before bringing out a card from behind her hair and throwing it toward Jungkook on the stage.

The internet couldn’t get over this “flirty” moment. It also inspired many memes as ARMYs tried to imagine what V must have said to her.

Now, V has responded to all ARMYs’ curiosities regarding the famous skit. V took to Weverse and spent a while answering ARMYs’ questions, many regarding Olivia Rodrigo.

Of course, everyone was curious about what V had whispered. So, he revealed what he had said to her during that moment, but it was not in English! Therefore she probably didn’t understand.
ARMY: Taehyung… What did you whisper to Miss Rodrigo? It was such an amazing scene… Pretty… Amazing… And sad… No, I mean… I was just curious ^^
V: Just, “This is important business. You understand as a fellow professional.” I didn’t even speak English.
Naturally, ARMY assumed that Olivia was surprised because V had whispered to her in Korean. Yet, V surprisingly replied that he had not spoken Korean either.
ARMY: Ah ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ So Olivia acted surprised after hearing Korean… She’s a true professional too…
V: I didn’t speak Korean either though?..
So, we’re left wondering, what did V speak? French? TATA’s language? Either way, he and Olivia Rodrigo were both great actors! They have both acted for TV, after all!
ARMY: It’s so funny that you didn’t speak in English ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Olivia’s acting skills are incredible ㅋㅋㅋ
V: Olivia is a hero
Considering V had not spoken in either English or Korean, some assumed he actually said nothing. He refuted this, saying he did say something, but he could not remember the details because he was so nervous.
ARMY: Olivia acted so well even though Taehyung didn’t whisper anything to her
V: I did say something but I was nervous about the performance so I don’t remember. I probably said, “You have to be surprised now.”
Eagle-eyed ARMYs recently noticed that V’s hands were shaking during the scene, indicating he was truly nervous. Despite this, V did so well! He never fails to amaze.

And since everyone had made jokes about BTS’s RM in reference to Olivia Rodrigo’s hit song “driver’s license,” considering he himself does not have one, V responded to this joke.

Rather than ask Olivia Rodrigo to help RM earn a driver’s license, V would have told her he doesn’t need one!
