After the show ended, they took their on-screen romance off-screen and continued to participate in each others’ lives. The result of a beautiful year of dating was a happy wedding. They looked like the perfect power couple in photos shared by Son Ye Jin’s entertainment company.
The wedding itself was kept private because of the pandemic and respected the bride and groom’s wishes. Son Ye Jin had wanted a small and exclusive ceremony to keep things special. Of course, photographs still made it onto the internet as their guests indulged in the day’s happiness.

But how much did this lavish affair cost them? Hosted at Aston House in Walkerhill Hotel, Son Ye Jin herself chose the outdoor venue. Nestled deep behind the hotel, it provides a lush environment away from the crowd. The couple could avoid prying eyes and telephoto lenses without tall buildings nearby. The rental of the location costs ₩15.0 million KRW (about $12,300 USD), while the floral decorations cost her a whopping ₩25.0 million KRW (about $20,600 USD). The flowers cost more than the location itself!
To ensure the safety and privacy of the guests, their security team costs them ₩10.0 million KRW (about $8,230 USD) to hire for the day. This was necessary given the star-studded guest list, which included Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA, Gong Hyo Jin, Gong Yoo, Lee Min Jung, Go So Young, Jung Hae In, and more. One of the guests also uploaded a sneak of the menu offered to guests. The entire course meal would have cost the hosts a pretty penny.
The guests ‘ bellies were filled with caviar and sous-vide seafood to ginseng chicken soup. They were also served french baguettes and olive focaccia from Italy and cream soup made from organic mushrooms. A tomato and basil sherbet topped off the entrees, while expensive hanwoo steak and fresh clams were the main courses. A truffle mash and the traditional feast noodles were served after. For dessert, guests were treated to honey cake, raspberry chocolate, vanilla bean ice cream, and fresh fruits.
Considering the expensive menu, the couple would’ve spent an estimated ₩100 million KRW (about $82,300 USD) at the very least. While this might not be that big a sum for them to fork out on their happiest day, it’s a stunningly massive amount for most regular folks. This number isn’t even the final one, for the cost of their hair, makeup, costumes, and photographer are not even included.
