Here Is How The Members Of NCT DREAM Really Feel About The Age Gap With Older Fans

The members of NCT DREAM debuted at a really young age, and it wasn’t until January 2021 that the youngest member, Jisung, legally became an adult. Given that the group were so young when they debuted, it’s no surprise that many of their fans would end up being somewhat older than them. As NCT DREAM prepares for their comeback on March 28, Jisung, Haechan, Jeno and Renjun sat down to chat in the latest episode of Haechan Radio and discussed what they really think about the age gap with older fans.
In the past, due to the fact that he was underage, certain fan requests made to Jisung were sometimes a little inappropriate. Jisung always handled it very well, but he also made it clear he was uncomfortable with some of the requests he got.

He turned down requests very politely, often making jokes, but he still made his boundaries very clear.

While chatting on Haechan Radio recently, the members read a story sent by a fan who said she was older than them, and who had felt uncomfortable about openly expressing her love for NCT DREAM and Jisung due to the age gap. Now that Jisung is legally an adult, she finally feels comfortable enough to say that Jisung is her favorite member.

Hearing the story, Jisung gave his thoughts on the age gap between him and older fans, saying that there’s nothing to really feel bad about now that he’s an adult.

Renjun thoughtfully added, “You shouldn’t be ashamed of loving and liking an artist,” which Jisung agreed with.

Jisung tried to encourage her to feel comfortable being his fan, and Jeno added, “Age is just a number.”

Haechan readily agreed as well, and building on what Renjun said, he stated that, with his talent and likeability, Jisung is very worthy of being someone’s favorite artist, regardless of age difference.

At the end of the day, the NCT DREAM members feel that the age gap is not the most important thing, especially now that they’re all adults. What matters most is the genuine appreciation that fans have for them, no matter their age!
