MAMAMOO’s Wheein Cried When Hwasa Told Her She Was Dating Someone

MAMAMOO‘s Hwasa and Wheein have been best friends for more than 10 years now, with their history of friendship starting when they both attended the same middle school.

The duo’s passion for singing led them to follow their dreams — with a brave heart and a positive attitude, both of them left their hometown in Jeonju and went to Seoul in the hopes of becoming singers.

Needless to say, the both of them know each other more than they know their own families — they even said that it’s because both of them spend more time with each other than their own families.

During one of their guest appearances in tvN‘s Mix Clip, Hwasa revealed that Wheein cried when Hwasa told her she was dating someone back then.

Wheein says she cried, not because she was hurt, but because she was so happy for Hwasa.

[Hwasa] was always in a one-sided relationship. I used to hear all the details from her all the time, and I used to tell her to try and that I was sure she would succeed.

The both of them looked like they wanted to cry when they were talking about this emotional moment in Hwasa’s life.

But when she suddenly came up to me and said, “I’m dating someone”, I was smiling but tears suddenly came to me eyes, because I was very happy!

Heechul jokingly asked Wheein if it was really because she was happy, or maybe it’s because she was upset and she also wanted to date someone.

Wheein repeated that it was because she was so happy for Hwasa, so the tears naturally came out of her eyes.

Hwasa also shared that it was because of the scars she had in a past relationship.

Wheein felt so happy since Hwasa was moving on and taking a stand to love again by being in another relationship.

The scars that I had from a different relationship were so deep that Wheein was very worried about me. She’d always say, “Hyejin, you’ll be fine”. This time, I thought I would regret it if I lost him so… And I told Wheein about it and Wheein (motions crying)
