STAYC is a six-member girl group that debuted under High Up Entertainment on November 12, 2020. Their first single is titled Star To A Young Culture, which is also the meaning behind their group name.
Producer Black Eyed Pilseung is the mastermind behind this rookie group and is also known for producing hit K-Pop songs including TWICE’s “TT” and SISTAR’s “Lonely” and more.
It was also revealed that it took three years to find members that had both talent and the personality.
They focused on finding candidates that did not have a past record with bullying and chose people who had the potential to become a K-Pop idol.
With so much time and effort taking place to create the group, it must have been quite difficult to come up with the group name as well.
Online communities were shocked after finding out the potential names that were on the list for STAYC before debut.

- Molar
- STAYC
The meaning behind MOLAR was that they would “chew up K-Pop with their talent.”
