BTS’s Jungkook Revaled Why They Included A Skit In Their Album For The First Time In 3 Years

BTS held their Global Press Conference for “BE” on November 20 at 11AM KST. They answered questions in a private event for reporters.
The members discussed everything from the meaning behind their tracks to the inspiration behind their album-making process.
One important question came from USA TODAY‘s Fatima Farha, asking, “You decided to include a ‘skit’ which hasn’t been a part of the album for the previous few releases. Is there an important reason for doing so?”
Skits are audio sketches that commonly appear in hip hop albums. Some of BTS’s old works include “Circle Room Talk” in their 2 Kool 4 Skool album, “R U happy now?” from O!RUL8,2?, and “Soulmate” from Skool Luv Affair.
Jungkook explained that the skit in their BE album will be their first one in three years. They previously released “Billboard Music Awards Speech” in 2017.
Like RM mentioned earlier, this is the first time in three years we included a skit since our 2017 album, Love Yourself: Her.

The contents of the skit include their reaction to hitting first place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Dynamite”. It was the ideal time to record it as they were already in the studio at the time.
So…on the day that the Billboard Hot 100 news was announced, we actually had a recording session scheduled.

Fans will be able to hear their genuine reactions to reaching the historic milestone.
And the news came as a big surprise to us too, so when we were recording the skit, we were kind of flustered. Like I don’t even remember what I said in the skit, I’ll have to listen to it to see what I said.

Because it was such a meaningful moment for the members, it was important to share it with their fans.
But yeah, that skit really captures how in awe and proud we were at the moment. So that’s really meaningful to us.
