Tabloid Dispatch has have had a long-standing tradition of releasing news of one celebrity couple every New Year’s Day. While we wait for Dispatch to release 2022’s New Year’s Couple, here’s a look back at all the couples they have unveiled through the years.

1. 2013

In 2013, they shockingly revealed that Rain and Kim Tae Hee were dating. This news shook everyone to the core as Rain is a top star while Kim Tae Hee is one of South Korea’s most beloved beauties. They quickly acknowledged the matter and soon got married.

2. 2014

The news was shocking but everyone welcomed the dating of Lee Seung Gi and Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA. They were praised for being a great match as they are both known for their kind personalities. However, they broke up after drifting due to busy schedules.

3. 2015

Squid Game star Lee Jung Jae has been dating divorced heiress Im Se Ryung. Known for her riches, smarts and great beauty, the public was still shocked at the pairing.

4. 2016

EXID‘s Hani and Kim Junsu (formerly of TVXQ) were announced to be dating. This was at EXID and Hani’s peak popularity after her viral fancam. The pair broke up after drifting due to busy schedules.

In 2017, Dispatch skipped out on revealing a couple due to the huge political scandal that South Korea was in due to former president, Park Geun Hye and her embezzlement.

5. 2018

BIGBANG‘s G-DRAGON and former After School‘s Lee Jooyeon was announced. YG Entertainment did not deny or confirm the news, simply stating they would not be commenting about his private life.

6. 2019

EXO‘s Kai and BLACKPINK‘s Jennie was announced. Fans were in an uproar as Jennie was Korea’s hottest it-girl at that time and EXO’s popularity was already solidified. Not a few months after the news broke out, the pair announced their break up.

Dispatch once more skipped out on 2020. Although it was not announced, most assume that it was out of respect for the public, due to the pandemic the world was in.

7. 2021

Last but not least, in 2021 we saw Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin being announced. Most fans were overjoyed at the confirmation due to the strong chemistry both showed in drama Crash Landing On You.
