She had worn bright pink to a wedding.

Back then, Lee Yu Bi received much hate and criticism for being a “bad wedding guest.” In Korea, the guests should not outshine the bride, and many take great care to uphold this unspoken rule. This is why most wear dark colors or plain outfits to weddings.

While her mother Kyeon Mi Ri also received some criticism for choosing to wear such a bright shade, it was not as serious as the bride’s mother is traditionally supposed to wear a pink hanbok.

On March 19, 2024’s episode of Strong Heart VS, Lee Yu Bi made an appearance to talk about her upcoming drama, the second season of The Escape Of The 7. The sequel will be titled The Revival Of The 7. The MC got a chance to ask Lee Yu Bi about her outfit at the wedding. She explained that her sister Lee Da In had actually bought the outfit for her. The bride had wanted to personally buy Lee Yu Bi’s outfit, and matched it to her normal style. Lee Yu Bi had been swamped with filming schedules, and was unable to accompany her sister on the shopping trip. She ultimately received a photo of the bought pink suit later on. As for her hair, she had no choice but to wear a wig to the wedding. Lee Yu Bi exclusively only used wigs for the filming, and had no time to redo her hair in time for the wedding. She chose the most ordinary-looking wig on set and made it to the wedding.

Lee Yu Bi expressed her surprise at being labelled as a bad wedding guest by the public. She had simply only worn what her sister had picked out for her!
