ITZY Members Complain About Gaining Weight Due To Gruelling Schedules

They are caught in a vicious cycle of a routine.

On January 12, KST, ITZY made an appearance as guests on the new episode of Park Myung Soo’s YouTube show Halmyungsoo to promote their latest comeback with the mini album BORN TO BE and the title song “Untouchable.” Since Lia is currently taking a break from activities due to health issues, only four members of the group participated in this YouTube show.

During the episode, the host treated the four ITZY members, Yuna, Chaeryeong, Lia, and Ryujin, to delicious delivery food and talked about their lives and careers in a laid-back environment.

Park Myung Soo then asked the members if they maintain a diet during comeback periods, to which Yeji replied that they try to, but it is not working out too well for them.

Chaeryeong then explained her predicament, saying that in order to lose weight, her body requires a good amount of sleep. But since comeback schedules are usually very packed, she doesn’t get enough sleep, which makes it very difficult for her to maintain her weight.

Yuna agreed with her member, adding that the lack of sleep leads to a drop in blood sugar, which makes her eat more than usual. Naturally, that leads to further bloating.

Seeing the ITZY members upset over their lack of sleep, Park Myung Soo suggested they take a nap right there, making all of them chuckle out loud.

While ITZY are not the first idols to expose how their grueling work schedule can often take a physical toll, they deserve to be appreciated for both their honesty and work ethic.
